  • 3 Day Loan
  • Standard (borrower category dependent)

Guide to the Dewey Decimal System

Our books are catalogued using the Dewey Decimal System. Our guide to this classification scheme will help you to identify the shelf numbers for your specific subject area.

Books

Books

  • Books for Engineering and Informatics are located on the 2nd floor of the Main Library. 
  • In general,  Engineering books  are found between shelf numbers 620-690 on floor 2 while
  • Computer Science books are located in the 000 section of floor 2. 
  • Please be aware that some Engineering & Informatics books may be located elsewhere in the Library.  In each case the Library catalogue will identify the book's location.

E-books

There is a growing collection of e-books available in Engineering and Informatics and the Library tries to purchase e-books where possible.

Reference Books

Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias, Handbooks, Statistics and other reference works can be an invaluable starting point for your research or study.  They also provide ready-reference access to factual information.  Access Science database https://www.accessscience.com/ is a useful online reference work.
